Healthy and Smart, A Bright Future: Health Check-ups at An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Bantaeng
An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School – In an effort to realize a healthy school environment and raise awareness of the importance of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Pa'bumbungang Bantaeng has once again established a strategic partnership with the Pa'Bentengang Community Health Center (Puskesmas).
This routine health check-up activity, which is held twice a year, focuses on comprehensive examinations and self-hygiene socialization for all school residents.
This collaboration is part of the commitment of An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School and Puskesmas Pa'Bentengang to ensure optimal health conditions for the students (santri) and supervisors. These routine check-ups are essential for detecting health issues as early as possible, especially those related to the students' dental, oral, and general body health.
This aligns with the statement from Hasan Basri, Lc., the director (mudir) of An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School. "One of our commitments at the boarding school is to maintain the health and cleanliness of the students. That is why we are cooperating with Puskesmas Pa'Bentengang." (Tuesday, November 26, 2025)
The activity, which took place within the premises of An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Pa'bumbungang Bantaeng, involved a total of 48 participants, consisting of all students and supervisors. Medical personnel from Puskesmas Pa'Bentengang conducted a series of examinations, including:
  1. Dental and Oral Examination: Checking dental hygiene, signs of caries (cavities), and gum conditions.
  2. General Body Examination: Covering the cleanliness of body parts and other aspects.
"This activity is a tangible manifestation of our concern for the students' health. Through these routine check-ups from Puskesmas Pa'Bentengang, we hope that all students can undergo the teaching and learning process in prime physical condition, consistent with Islamic teachings which strongly emphasize cleanliness."
It is hoped that through this routine twice-a-year program, the awareness and practice of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior within the An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School environment can continue to be enhanced, creating a generation that is not only academically and religiously smart, but also physically healthy.
