A Tangible Synergy: The An-Nawawi IBS Extended Family, Security Forces, and Local Communit Collaborate to Repair Pa’Bumbungang Village Roads
An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School – The presence of an educational institution within a community continues to yield tangible positive impacts. An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School (IBS) Pa’Bumbungang, Bantaeng, has synergized with the Village Government, security forces, and local residents in a concerted social action.

For three consecutive days, from Tuesday, June 2, to Thursday, June 4, 2026, a large-scale community service project (gotong royong) was carried out to repair the connecting road between Sarrea Hamlet and Bontojonga Hamlet in Pa’Bumbungang Village, Bantaeng Regency.

This environmental and infrastructure care initiative involved not only the extended family of the Islamic boarding school but also integrated various essential elements of the village. The project was made possible through the close cooperation of:
  1. An-Nawawi Islamic Boarding School Pa’Bumbungang
  2. Parents of Students
  3. The Head of Pa’Bumbungang Village
  4. Security Forces (BABINSA and BHABINKAMTIBMAS)
  5. The Community of Pa’Bumbungang Village

The primary focus of this three-day marathon project was the repair of the vital road segment connecting Sarrea Hamlet to Bonto Jonga Hamlet. This route serves as a crucial access point for local residents in their daily activities, including economic pursuits, agricultural logistics, and school transportation for local children.

Previously, the condition of several points along the road required intervention to ensure it was safer and more suitable for travel. Fueled by the spirit of gotong royong (communal work), all parties worked side-by-side to perform filling, road leveling, and cleaning of the drainage channels on both sides of the road.

The participation of An-Nawawi IBS students and mentors in this activity also serves as a form of character education outside the classroom. Beyond religious studies, the students are taught to cultivate social sensitivity and provide tangible contributions to the environment where they pursue their education.

The Village Head and community leaders of Pa’Bumbungang expressed their deepest appreciation to An-Nawawi IBS, Babinsa, and Kamtibmas for their demonstrated care. This collective effort proves that through unity and togetherness, infrastructure challenges at the village level can be addressed more quickly and independently.
